Seventeen days after the earthquake in Haiti, more immediate concerns are taking precedence over safety and pulling people from rubble. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is warning that Haiti must now combat potential health risks, which are rising. PAHO’s deputy director, Dr. Jon Andrus, told The Wall Street Journal that health risks are rising due to the increasing numbers of displaced residents living in overcrowded areas.
