As spring break rapidly approaches, many students are making trips to tanning salons to get that desired sun-kissed glow. In order to raise awareness about the prevalence of skin cancer, and deter students from stepping into tanning beds, Colleges against Cancer, Health Education and Wellness, and Simply Healthy co-sponsored a presentation by Meghan Rothschild on Feb. 9 in Slavin G01.Rothschild, a skin-cancer survivor, shared her struggle against melanoma with Providence College students. Rothschild opened her presentation with a video that showed the harsh statistics regarding tanning and skin cancer.
