“Road wins in this league are very tough to come by,” said Georgetown Head Coach John Thompson III in his post-game press conference. Well, they are a lot easier to come by when you have Greg Monroe on your side. After a quiet first half in which Monroe found himself in early foul trouble, Georgetown’s silky smooth 6’11” sophomore center controlled the game in the second half. Whether it was finishing at the bucket with a left-handed finger-roll or finding an open teammate, Monroe paced the Hoyas down the stretch en route to a 79-70 road win over the Friars on Tuesday, Feb. 9.”[Monroe] is an unbelievable talent,” said Providence College Head Coach Keno Davis. “To be able to get 12 assists—he’s going to be playing for a long time at the next level.”
