On Nov. 13, a new heist drama, 12 12 12, will make its global debut. This upcoming American heist television series was created by Jim Keeble and Dudi Appleton. The show stars and is produced by Emmy Award nominee Anthony Mackie and Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards nominee Jamie Dornan. Like many television series, the first two episodes will premiere on the release date, and single episodes will be subsequently released every Friday through Dec. 25.
Each episode of 12 12 12 unfolds across three timelines: the 12 months of planning, 12 hours of the heist, and the 12 days that follow. The show follows a career criminal, Dornan, and a disgraced FBI agent, Mackie, and emphasizes their adversarial game of wits across Europe after the career criminal attempts to raid a bank vault in Zürich. In addition to Mackie and Dornan, the cast includes Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jack Kesy, Kali Reis, Agathe Rouselle, and Sallie Harmsen. While each of these actors has had a successful acting career, Reis is the only among them to receive an Emmy Award nomination. She received her nomination for her role as Detective Evangeline Navarro in HBO’s True Detective: Night Country. It is worth mentioning that Reis is also a Providence, RI, native and a recognized boxer. This demonstrates her far-reaching talents.
As I mentioned before, the series is created by Keeble and Appleton. Emmy Award-nominated and BAFTA Award-winning Kari Skogland is directing the pilot episode, but it remains unknown who will directing the other episodes. The series is produced by Anonymous Content and Paramount Television Studios, as Paramount assumed production after the merger with Skydance Media this past August. As a result of 12 12 12 being one of Apple TV’s first heist series, it is one of their most anticipated releases this fall.
