Honorary degree recipients for the 99th Commencement Exercises include: Barnaby Evans, creator of WaterFire, who will receive an honorary doctorate of fine arts degree; alumna Liz Flynn ’82, recently retired Vice Chairman at Marsh, who will receive an honorary doctorate of business administration degree; senior Rabbi Wayne Franklin of Temple Emanu-El in Providence, co-founder and co-chair—along with Dr. Arthur Urbano—of the Catholic-Jewish Dialogue of RI, who will be awarded an honorary doctorate of divinity; Dr. Richard Grace ’62, professor of history at PC since 1965, director of the Liberal Arts Honors Program from 1970-1987, and chair of the history department from 1994-2000, who will receive an honorary doctorate of humanities; and lastly, Navyn Salem, CEO of Edesia—a nonprofit foundation that produces Plumpy Nut® a ready-to-use food, and which has helped reach over 4.8 million malnourished children in 48 countries—who will receive an honorary doctorate of public service.
