Providence College members of Eta Lambda, the PC chapter of the premier adult learner honor society called Alpha Sigma Lambda, and the School of Continuing Education (SCE) Office, are hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive throughout the 2018 fall season. By the end of this food drive, Eta Lambda and the SCE hope to collect enough items for 20 complete dinner baskets, including turkeys.

Anne Nagle, assistant dean of SCE, mentioned that for this drive, individuals can contribute canned and boxed goods, grocery store gift cards, and cash donations. Nagle continued to explain, “All of the dinner baskets, which also include festive napkins this year, will be delivered to D.A.R.E. (Direct Action for Rights and Equality) on Lockwood Street in Providence, to be distributed to local families in need.”

The SCE also mentioned that all those who donate will be entered into  a raffle to win a holiday wine and coffee basket through the Eta Lambda organization.

For those interested in contributing to this year’s Thanksgiving Food Drive, the deadline for all donations is Friday, November 16. Items can be dropped off in the SCE Office located in Harkins Hall Room 109. The SCE office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
