Men’s Soccer

Last weekend on Saturday, Nov. 1, the men’s soccer team played DePaul University and came out with a 3–2 victory. Providence College scored in the 43rd minute with a goal by Angelo Ventrella ’29, his third goal of the season. Sam Montalto ’26 and Bruno Rosa ’26 closed out the game with a goal each. Defenders Charlie Dickerson ’26G, Mitchel Varley ’26, Brandon Marshall ’27, and Vasco Teixeira ’28, held up the back line and supported goalkeeper Ryan Carney ’29. This past Friday, Nov. 7, the Friars hosted the Georgetown University Hoyas for senior night on Chapey Field. Kickoff was at 7 p.m. The Friars tied the Hoyas 2–2. 

Women’s Volleyball

Providence College’s own Hadley Pride ’26, received the American Volleyball Coaches Association T.E.A.M. Award. She was one of 44 recipients of the award and earned an invitation to a coach development program at the AVCA convention in Kansas City, MO. Pride has largely contributed to the team leading the defense with 485 digs. Last Saturday, the Friars lost to St. John’s University in five sets, 3–2. Lyric Berry ’27 had a notable game. In the first set, Sophia Adkins ’28 and Berry had a block together to narrow St. John’s lead. In the third set, Berry had a kill that brought the Friars ahead. This Friday, Nov. 14, the Friars play Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The game starts at 5 p.m.

Men’s Golf

With the Providence College men’s golf team rising to the varsity level, the group has set out to prove themselves amongst the more established teams. The men’s team completed the Crusader Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Worcester, MA. The team finished No. 9 in the 12-team competition. Liam O’Grady ’29 tied for No. 21, competing as an individual. O’Grady shot identical rounds of 73–73 and recorded six birdies over 36 holes. This was O’Grady’s first appearance besides the Sacred Heart Fall Classic. Campbell Skelly ’27 also led the Friars and tied for No. 28. The Friars will return in February 2026 for the spring season. Siena College won the team title with a score of 564.

Women’s Hockey

On Friday, Nov. 7, the women’s hockey team went up against the University of New Hampshire. The Friars played back-to-back games, away on Friday and home on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Friars fell to the Wildcats on Friday, 4–2, but secured the win on Saturday, 5–1. Last weekend, the Friars went up against University of Maine and earned their first Hockey East win and scored four goals over two games. Star player, Reichen Kirchmair ’26, has scored 12 points in 12 games with eight goals and four assists. Kirchmair is the reigning Hockey East player of the year. Another player to watch is the returner, Audrey Knapp ’27, named a Hockey East First Team All-Star last season. Knapp also tied for the conference lead with 15 goals next to her teammate Kirchmair.
