We all know how important leadership is, especially in sports. The Washington Huskies have something brewing, and thanks to their leader, Michael Penix Jr., they have secured a top 10 spot in the AP poll for now. The Huskies have picked up right where they left off last season, dismantling everyone. They have cruised to a 3–0 start after taking down Boise State, Tulsa, and Michigan State. Penix Jr., back for his sixth season, is looking to go out on top of a National Championship; of course, why not add more to the resume? Michael Penix Jr. will win the 2023 Heisman trophy this season. Currently, he is ranked second behind defending champion Caleb Williams. There is a tremendous value for a sprinkle on Penix Jr. (BetMGM +550), (DraftKings +500), and (Fanduel +480). Considering he is a lock to win this trophy, and Washington has a legitimate shot to go to the college football playoffs, this is a must-bet. If you aren’t persuaded quite yet, you will be after hearing these stats. Michael Penix Jr. has toyed with his opponents so far this season; he has thrown over 400 passing yards in every game and 12 touchdown passes in total. In week one, he went for 450 passing yards and five touchdown passes; in week two, 409 passing yards and three touchdown passes; and in week three, 473 passing yards for four touchdown passes. Those stats look pretty, but let’s be honest: Washington has not faced much of a threat so far this season. Penix Jr. has the experience and led his team to a very successful 12–2 season last year. He also captured the Alamo Bowl against a vicious Texas team 27–20. That game was slightly average for Penix Jr., but he’s been under the lights before, and this season, it’s all or nothing for the Huskies. Looking ahead on the schedule to Nov. 4, 2023, the top two dogs will go head-to-head at USC, and that game just might be winner-take-all.
