A-List Ceremony To Be Held in Slavin Lawn

After a tumultuous week for the Providence College men’s basketball team, Friartown has a reason to celebrate. Nate Watson purchased a VIP ticket to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour for  thousands of dollars on StubHub once the Friars lost to Kentucky in the NCAA tournament. Reports claim that Watson only knew Swift for a few hours, but he instantly declared that “it was love at first sight.”

The two hit it off right after the concert, with fans sighting them at a hotel bar around 3:00 a.m. The next morning, Swift left for the next leg of her Eras Tour with a diamond ring on her finger. Swifties took to social media and began speculating that she was engaged to her long-time boyfriend Joe Alwyn. However, Watson revealed in an emotional TikTok video that he would marry the Grammy-winning artist.

Watson promised fans that his wedding will take place back at PC on Slavin Lawn this summer. The event will bring celebrities from around the world to Friartown, including Jennifer Lawrence and Tom Hanks. Harry Styles is the only one of Swift’s ex-boyfriends that was extended an invitation to the wedding, since he was able to remain relevant after breaking up with Swift.

Additional details about the ceremony and reception have been made public.Friar Dom is expected to officiate the ceremony. Swift is expected to wear a couture gown, but no further details have been provided regarding attire. Guests will have the opportunity to stay in one of the College’s five-star residence halls, but celebrities such as Gordon Ramsay and Prince Harry have already declined their accommodations, opting for hotel rooms instead.

The reception will reportedly take place at Swift’s home in Watch Hill. The police are preparing for crowds to flock down to the Rhode Island coastline once the wedding date is confirmed.

Concerns over crowd control remain in Providence as thousands of students and alumni are expected to swarm the area to catch a glimpse of the happy couple. Public Safety has assured the lovebirds that they will make security their top priority, but they cannot stop the public from simply wandering onto campus.

Students are already lined up outside on Slavin Lawn months in advance of the ceremony. When a Scowl reporter asked the students about how they will finish their coursework, many decided to take an “incomplete” rather than lose the chance to witness this historic moment.

The Scowl will keep its readers updated as more details about this star-studded event become available.
